[00:00:29] Hi there. This is Crystal of Crystal Obregon Coaching with Episode Number 67 of the Extraordinary Life Podcast. Happy second week of November. It seems like the holidays are going to be here before we know it.
[00:00:47] I know I'm not planning to look much further than Thanksgiving at this point. We're planning to head to the mountains and eat some kind of yummy non-traditional dinner and spend some time outside. [00:01:00] Today, I would like to talk about what to do when you feel like you're beating your head against a wall. When you repeatedly try to reach a goal, but you never seem to achieve it, and instead you seem to be struggling rather than moving forward and achieving your goals with grace and ease.
[00:01:26] Trust me, you're not alone. There's a reason my podcast has been heavy on the cheerleading lately. I've been hearing a lot of people struggling. The struggle to move from what you don't want to, what you do want, unfortunately is a fundamental struggle for many people. In fact, believe it or not, it's very common for people to struggle against what they want and actually limit their good, even though they don't really realize that's what they're doing.
[00:01:59] In [00:02:00] order to have what you want though, you must be willing to end the struggle and move into action. Your success is dependent on your ability to reach each of your goals. And I know that seems obvious, but when you're stuck, you're stuck. And the easiest way to move from stuck into action without struggling is to be authentic and to be in alignment with your authenticity.
[00:02:28] What I mean by authenticity is that you're connected to who you are deep down, and your desires are a true reflection of that, that inner self and soul. What I mean by alignment is that your entire being is in agreement with the goal you want to achieve. For example, you come home from work one evening and you're really tired, but this evening is your workout night, so you come in the door.
[00:02:59] You [00:03:00] sit on the couch and actually have to talk yourself into changing into your workout clothes and heading out the door to the gym or for a run or a bike ride or whatever. What you did in convincing part of yourself to get off the couch and get out the door when you really wanted to stay where you were is called alignment.
[00:03:23] You got yourself into alignment with the idea and intention of working out no matter how tired a part of you felt. To end your struggle and successfully achieve your goals, all parts of you must work together for that manifestation. That means your mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual selves must be in agreement concerning a goal.
[00:03:50] There can't be any doubts, limiting beliefs or attachments. I'm gonna share a process that you can use any [00:04:00] time to do an authenticity check concerning your goals and to bring yourself into alignment with them. You'll definitely have to do this more than once and come back to it again and again.
[00:04:15] Step one is to sit quietly in a peaceful, serene, and nurturing place. It must be a place where you feel comfortable and secure and hopefully won't be interrupted. Spend several minutes in quiet and in a reflection upon your goal. Have a pen and paper handy.
[00:04:41] Step two is the authenticity check. Ask within if this goal feels like the appropriate goal for you to achieve at this time.
[00:04:53] If the answer is yes, then skip to the next step. If the answer is no, [00:05:00] ask what a more appropriate goal would be for you right now. Really spend some time on this step. By asking this question, you move from being ruled by the needs of the mind, also known as the survival mind, and you'll begin to access what's deeper inside.
[00:05:22] You'll leave the petty desires of the ego and move into realizing the deeper desires of the soul. As a result, your goals become truer and more authentic. Write down the response you receive and really think about this as a brainstorming session because if you feel like you need additional clarity as you go along concerning your responses, ask for it and keep asking and keep writing until you feel complete.
[00:05:55] Step three is alignment. Once you've defined your goal and it [00:06:00] feels authentic, it's time to create alignment. Remain in your quiet, comfortable space and ask to speak to your mental self. I e your mind. Ask your mind if it's willing to be in alignment with your goal. The purpose of this question is to uncover any blocks or limitations that reside in your mind concerning your goal.
[00:06:25] If the answer is yes. Then proceed to your physical self, your spiritual, and end with your emotional self. If however, your answer is no to any of the parts. Begin a conversation with this part of you. Some questions to begin with are: why aren't you willing to be in alignment with this goal? What would it take for you to be in alignment with this goal? When a part of yourself isn't willing to be in alignment with an authentic goal, the cause may be [00:07:00] fear or insecurity.
[00:07:02] If this feels like it might be the case, ask yourself what you're afraid of. For example, maybe there's a job you've had your eye on but you're not prepping for the interview like you should. Ask yourself what's stopping you? Figuring out what might stop yourself ahead of time is invaluable to following through with the decision.
[00:07:25] Especially if it's out of your comfort zone. You might fear that the job will take too much time and you won't be able to spend as much time with your family. Or maybe you won't have time to exercise or you'll have to choose between spending time with your kids and getting exercise.
[00:07:46] Usually the situation is remedied by helping that part of you understand that it is taken care of, that it is safe, that it has nothing to fear. You might need to map out how you would [00:08:00] make it work. I know it might seem silly to talk to yourself like this, but simply have a conversation with that part of yourself and inform it of the truth once you've found it.
[00:08:14] Once you feel like you've worked through anything that's stopping you, affirm your alignment with your goal and your intention to manifest it. Once you receive the willingness of all parts of you, remember to thank them for supporting you in your goal. Affirm your alignment with the goal and your intention to manifest it.
[00:08:39] By completing this process, you create an authentic goal and bring yourself into full alignment with it, you can move forward without struggle because your blocks have been removed. One word of advice though, you'll likely have to do this multiple times. As you get closer to your goal, [00:09:00] you might uncover new fears or stopping places, and that's when you need to stop, get quiet and ask yourself if the story you're telling yourself, the story that's causing you to stop, to not follow through is really true. Personal development isn't a one stop shop.
