5 Sneaky Signs Your Body Might Be Dealing With Inflammation

In my last post, I shared that inflammation isn’t always the enemy—it’s actually a natural part of your body’s healing process. But when inflammation sticks around for too long, it can quietly chip away at your health. And it’s not just about your body—it can also impact your mood, motivation, and overall energy.

Here’s the tricky part:

  • It doesn’t always look like inflammation
  • It can come on so slowly that it feels normal.
  • And it can drag you down without you even realizing it.

That’s why I want to share five subtle signs your body might be dealing with ongoing inflammation.

  1. You might feel tired all the time, even when you take the time to rest. Low grade inflammation can interfere with your sleep quality and your recovery, so even when you rest, your body might not bounce back the way it used to.
  2. Exercising feels harder than it should. When inflammation is high, everything can feel off.  Your body might feel stiff, heavy, and sluggish. Even your go-to workouts can start to feel like you’re moving through quicksand, with your joints aching and your muscles dragging like you’re wearing a weighted vest.
  3. You experience bloating or digestive upset (even after healthy meals). Chronic inflammation can weaken your gut barrier, which means even nutritious foods might cause bloating or discomfort.
  4. Mood swings or low motivation. Inflammation can impact neurotransmitters, messing with our patience, motivation, and even how much you want to move your body.
  5. Your progress stalls for no reason. Inflammation can make your body more resistant to change, even when you’re consistent.

What You Can Do (Starting Today)

The good news? You don’t have to overhaul your life overnight. Small, intentional changes can make a big difference.

This week, try focusing on just one upgrade:

🥕 Add more colorful veggies to your meals.
😴 Prioritize seven to eight hours of quality sleep.
🚶‍♀️ Get outside for a walk or other light movement.

These little shifts can help lower inflammation over time, giving your body the chance to bounce back and feel its best again. Remember—change doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Small steps really do add up - and I’m always here to help.
