Feeling Behind on Your Goals?

We’re officially more than halfway through the year, and if you haven’t followed through on your goals the way you wanted… you’re not the only one. It’s super common to start the year with big plans and ideas for the months ahead, and then by summer things have stalled or stopped altogether. 

This is where people usually do one of two things: 

  1. They double down trying to make up for lost time, and get burnt out in the process, or 
  2. They throw in the towel and promise to start fresh in January (yet again).

You don’t need to do either! There’s a much better option: pause, recalibrate, and recommit. 

A Simple Way to Refocus on Your Goals

Take 5 to 10 minutes this week and answer these three questions (in a notebook, in your phone, or even just in your head while you walk):

  1. What’s actually been helping you feel better this year? (ex. Walking more, better sleep, more protein, boundaries, or eating less sugar.)
  2. What’s draining you or just doesn’t fit your life anymore? (ex. Trying to do long workouts, skipping meals, or overcommitting to plans.)
  3. What’s one small, realistic change that would make the rest of the year easier? (ex. Packing lunch 3x/week, a 10-minute stretch at night, walking after dinner, or getting to bed before 11.)

That’s it! You can check in with your goals and what is (or isn’t) working for you any time - it doesn’t need to be a New Year to take action and create a life you love.

Keep The Future in Focus

One way that I keep my future goals and life front of mind is by having a rough idea of where I want to be ten years from now. That’s what my Design Your Decade program is all about. You can grab it here and do it any time. Part of it is evaluating the past year of your life so you know what you want to keep, change, and also what you can celebrate. It can also be great as part of your mid-year check in.
