The 3-Minute Morning Reset

I’m trying to reset my morning routine, which has been off-kilter since Covid. I was going to tell you about how moving your morning coffee around in your schedule can help you avoid energy crashers… but since I’m not willing to wait an hour for my own morning coffee, I’ll save that for later. Instead, I’ve got three simple tips that will take you just three minutes in the morning and will have you starting your day refreshed rather than rushed. 

β˜€οΈThe 3-Minute Morning Reset β˜€οΈ

Tomorrow morning, instead of reaching for your phone or walking like a zombie to get your first coffee, try this instead. 

When you wake up tomorrow, try the following and see how you feel:

1️⃣ Breathe (60 seconds). Before reaching for your phone, take 5 deep belly breaths to signal to your brain that it’s time to wake up. This reduces stress and gives you some oxygen to boost your focus.

2️⃣ Move (60 seconds). Gently stretch, roll your shoulders, or do a few body weight movements (like air squats or arm circles). This gets the blood flowing and wakes up your muscles, even if you’re short on time.

3️⃣Set Your Intention (60 seconds). Ask yourself one (or all!) of these questions (I write them down because it helps solidify the thought for me). 
πŸ‘‰ What’s one thing I can do today to feel good in my body?
πŸ‘‰ What’s one action that will move me toward my goals?
πŸ‘‰ What’s one action I can take today that aligns with my purpose? It could be as simple as drinking an extra glass of water, getting outside for fresh air, or making time for a workout.

Here’s why this 3-minute routine works: 

βœ…You’re not on autopilot. Instead of rolling into the day on default mode, you choose how you want to show up.
βœ…You start with a win! This builds momentum. Starting with one healthy decision makes it easier to continue making good choices all day.
βœ…You start with energy & focus. Instead of grogginess, you begin the day feeling more alert, clear, and intentional.

Even if you only do ONE of these steps, you’ll feel a difference. So if doing all three sounds like a stretch, pick the one that feels best to you and try it. I’d love to hear how it goes.
